A space for boys and girls of UASD students

The space has been put into operation with the goal of offering comprehensive care to the boys and girls they receive every day. This is how the director of the Jardín Progresando children’s stay of the UASD, Beatriz Terrero, who adds that they receive daily about 161 minors in ages that oscillate between three months and five yearsin a working time from 7:00 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon and from 1:00 to 7:00 at night.

The manager says that the service reopened by the rector Editrudis Beltrán, is mainly aimed at low-income student mothers, parents or guardians of the university, and that it includes services that guarantee that their stay in the place is for their benefit. and that of your mother, father or guardian.

Terrero explains: “Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the doors of the university, on March 17, 2020, were closed to employees and students due to the health conditions that the country was experiencing, and the world was in the obligation to rely on the virtual modality and therefore the mothers who used the service took their teaching under it from their homes with their children to protect them. In that same order, the staff of the Children’s Stay was relocated to other dependencies of the institution until recently in the month of August, when they were called to reopen teaching in person.

Diversification of the area

They have a multidisciplinary staff made up of professionals from Psychology, Early Childhood Education, as well as pediatricians, nurses, lawyers, administrators, social workers and counselors.
