The imperial table detailed that the presentation match of Gerardo Ameli’s team will not take place because positive cases of COVID-19 were detected on the day of this Thursday, after the discard tests were carried out.

“After performing the medical tests on the campus and administrative staff of the institution, Nine people have been detected with COVID-19. For the Cienciano club, the health of its entire sports and administrative team is important and this is not negotiable ”, dictates part of the statement.

In this way, the meeting between Cienciano vs. Sport Boys for the ‘Afternoon of the Dad’ was suspended. Cusqueños and rosados ​​were going to meet this Sunday at 3.00 pm at the Garcilaso de la Vega Stadium.

However, the positive cases of COVID-19 altered the plans of the red box. On the other hand, the institution stated that those affected were already isolated.

“People affected by this virus have been immediately isolated and will remain in quarantine, under medical supervision of the club and the campus will train virtually,” they reported in Cienciano.

Cienciano joins the list of League 1 clubs that have been affected by the third wave of COVID-19.

Sporting Cristal, Alianza Lima and Universitario are the other teams that have been affected by the virus. Between the four institutions there are more than 40 positive cases.
