Bryan Reyna seeks his revenge: from leaving Spain due to indiscipline to shine with Peru in his debut

The Peruvian team had an outstanding performance against El Salvador and ended up beating the Central Americans 4-1. One of the figures of that meeting was the debutant Bryan Reyna, who crowned his performance with a great goal. Although the present of the Cantolao Academy midfielder is promising, his past was not entirely good.

It turns out that the 24-year-old had two extra-football problems that overshadowed his performance, one of them at the international level. However, all that seems to be behind us and now Bryan Reyna is looking for a rematch that will take him back to European football.

The winger began his career in the reserve of the Cantolao Academy. In 2016 he made the big leap by signing for a renowned Spanish club: Mallorca. At just 18 years old, Bryan Reyna was already showing his football on the old continent. Although he played in the youth teams of the Hispanic team, he was loaned out to teams in lower divisions such as CD Toledo, CD Alcoyano, Barakaldo CF and Las Rozas CF.

In mid-2020, he returned to Mallorca, however, his stay was short-lived because in January 2021 he was fired for indiscipline, according to EFE. Bryan Reina, Along with another of his teammates, they were forced to leave the club’s facilities despite the fact that they still had a valid contract.

Along the same lines, the newspaper Última Hora pointed out that both players did not respect the curfew imposed by local authorities in the face of the coronavirus health crisis. They also specified that they were detained for a few hours at the police agency.

Despite the fact that Reyna argued that he only went to play play with his friend and there was no indiscipline, Mallorca did not back down and ended up terminating his contract. In this way, the skilled player returned to Peru at the beginning of 2021 and, again, signed for the Cantolao Academy.

When it seemed that he would have a new beginning, in November 2021 Bryan Reynolds He returned to star in an extra football event. The Dolphin player was intervened in a vehicle together with his partner Yuriel Celi. The current Peruvian team was seen in a suspicious attitude at the height of the Canada oval in Callao and, after the intervention, a firearm was found inside the car.

“A black firearm was found, Browning brand, model CZ-83, caliber 9, without serial number, apparently eradicated, provided with a magazine of twelve ammunition,” reported the Callao Criminal Investigation Division.

Despite this situation, both soccer players from the Chalaco club were released, after the Public Ministry will not find evidence to accuse the players of the crime against public safety.

After overcoming these extra football facts, Bryan Reyna started a good season in 2022. In the Apertura Tournament he played 14 of the 18 games to be played and started 11 of them. In most he played the 90 minutes. In addition, he scored two goals and gave two assists. While in the Clausura he has played nine games and provided one assist.

His good performances as a midfielder in Cantolao meant that coach Juan Reynoso ended up calling him up, after Yoshimar Yotún and Andy Polo were injured. Reyna repaid that gratitude by scoring a great goal.
