CES 2022: Sony Introduces First Smart TV with QD-OLED Technology

Within the framework of the CES 2022 technology fair Sony officially presented its new Bravia XR 2022 line of televisions, which is led by the Master Series A95K on first TV with QD-OLED for consumers around the world.

Available in 65-inch and 55-inch sizes, this type of panel is designed to combine the best features of the OLED (deep blacks and infinite contrast) with the benefits of Quantum dot LED (improved brightness and more vivid color reproduction).

According to Sony, the main benefit of this technology is that it increases color brightness by up to 200% compared to conventional televisions. At the same time, it allows to obtain a “pure black contrast”, driven by the processor Cognitive Processor XR.

At the sound level, Bravia XR A95K It comes equipped with Acoustic Center Sync, which optimizes the sound output of the TV and soundbar for a better experience, and Acoustic Surface Audio +, which uses special actuators to turn the screen into a multi-channel speaker.

In terms of design, the TV offers two different display formats: front position that advances the screen for a more immersive experience, and the rear position which allows the screen to be placed close to the wall so that it blends in with its surroundings.

In a statement, Sony assured that it will release details about the price and availability of its new television. Master Series A95K during the second quarter of 2022.
