The Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) of Mexico will release this Saturday, January 8, 2022, the LP gas prices for the week from Sunday 9 to Saturday 15. In all states and municipalities, the maximum value of the ball must be respected according to to the price list for each one of them.
It should be taken into account that in all states and municipalities the maximum value of the gas cylinder is respected, according to the price list of each one of them.
In the Mexico City it all depends on the area you are in. The maximum price of LP gas in Iztapalapa, for example, is currently 20.78 pesos per kilogram and 11.22 per liter. Both amounts decreased compared to the previous week (21.38 and 11.54).
In some Mexican territories, such as Zapotlán del Rey or Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos (Jalisco), the maximum price of LP gas is 23.02 pesos per kilogram and 12.43 per liter. Also below what was registered the previous week (23.83 and 12.87).
The publication of the maximum applicable prices of LP gas in Mexico is established in accordance with Agreement No. A / 024/2021 of the CRE, which establishes the regulation of maximum prices of liquefied petroleum gas for sale to the end user, in compliance with the emergency guideline for consumer welfare issued by the Ministry of Energy.
As a result of this policy of maximum costs, one of the lowest levels of the year was experienced in the last week of 2021. LP gas was marketed at 22.18 pesos per kilogram and 11.97 pesos per liter.
The regulation of the price of LP gas is an economic policy that tries to stop the abuse of gas companies and thus reduce the spending of families on basic necessities.
For the Ministry of Energy (Sener), the release of prices authorized in January 2017 was detrimental to the family economy and directly influenced inflation levels.
