Chef Tita in the Walk of the Stars of Gastronomy


Dominican Chef Inés Páez, Chef Auntunveiled the first plaque of the Paseo de las Estrellas de la Gastronomía, unique in the world, located in Huelva, Spain, to which the Spanish chef Joan Roca, the Argentine Narda Lepes and the also Spanish Xanty Elías have joined, in recognition of the dedication, trajectory and dedication of these world-renowned chefs.

The event was held within the framework of the last day of the second Ibero-American gastronomic congress “Binomic”, where culinary ties between Spain and Latin America have been strengthened. In this renowned congress the Chef Aunt She was invited to speak on Dominican gastronomy, to which she led the presentation “Dominican gastronomy, the origin” with which she captivated all those present.

The first four chefs of this unique walk, which will be extended, discovered their star next to the Mercado del Carmen, emblem of the quality product of Huelva, called the great gastronomic museum of this city.

The acknowledgment accrediting this distinction was given to the four great chefs by Mayor Gabriel Cruz, who expressed his satisfaction with the initiative to place at the foot of the Mercado del Carmen the imprint of leading chefs such as Joan Roca, “a pride from Spain”, Chef Aunt“tremendous and important cook who praises Dominican gastronomy”, Narda Lepes, “very important cook who represents the guest country of this edition” and, of course, Xanty Elías, “a fantastic, creative person, defender of the products of our land” he emphasized.

The honorees thanked for the recognition and highlighted the importance of the links generated by Binómico and the initiative of the Ibero-American Gastronomy Walk, which Joan Roca has described as “modern, creative and very interesting”.

On her part, the Chef Aunt stated: “I am very happy and grateful to the Binomic platform for taking my work into account. I thank the director of Binómico, Alberto de Paz, and the mayor of Huelva, Gabriel Cruz, for recognizing my trajectory and commitment over many years, for seeing my Dominican gastronomy grow and be recognized in the world, and that is how we have opened a path wonderful recognition of our country, of our export products. That star means a lot to me since it immortalizes this work that I have done with passion, because the Dominican Republic has a place among the great chefs in the world and being one of the first four chefs on this tour fills me with pride and drives me to continue working for my country.”
