Couple met on Facebook and got married on Zoom without having seen each other in person

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people relate, yet some turn out to be weirder than others. In England, a young couple who met through Facebook decided to get married via Zoom without having met in person, or having spent a single day together.

The hilarious story stars Ayse (26 years old) and Darrin (24 years old), two young people who met virtually during the health crisis in 2020. Since then, they have started a friendly relationship that finally ended in a love affair.

After eight months of courtship that was strengthened due to video calls, according to Ayse to The Sun, Darrin finally decided to propose to his girlfriend. For this, he contacted the father of the young woman and thus finally have the blessing.

“He spoke to my father beforehand to ask his permission, which I found very sweet. I don’t think anyone expected this when we started talking last year. But we are married and everything is completely legal and official. I still can’t believe it, ”said the young woman.

After taking the necessary steps, they finally became husband and wife in a civil ceremony held via Zoom. However, at the moment they have not been able to meet.

According to Darrin, in two months he will travel to England to meet his wife and start a life with her.

It’s as close as we can get and it may sound strange, but it’s a great comfort.. When he answered the call (Darrin) seemed very nervous, which was not like him, but I soon understood why he got down on his knees and asked me to marry him, ”Ayse said.
