Culture inaugurates Jochy Campusano exhibition


A photographic exhibition made up of more than 200 images, both of Dominican actors with a long career and experience and of young talents, was installed last night at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), within the framework of the celebration of the 2022 National Theater Festival.

It is about “101 emotions of Dominican actors”, by the Dominican photographer Jochy Campusanoshows that it has a special dedication in memory to Delta Soto, pioneer of female performance in the Dominican Republic.

The exhibition stems from Campusano’s genuine desire to communicate the different states of mind that each individual goes through at different times in their lives.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was led by the Minister of Culture, Milagros Germán, who was accompanied by the Vice Minister of Creativity and Artistic Training, Giovanny Cruz; Jochy Campusanoauthor of the exhibited works, and Nelly Villalona, ​​daughter of Delta Soto.

During said act, Milagros Germán stated that “each of these photos tells us a chapter of the art of interpretation; regardless of whether it is theater, cinema or television; expressive faces of actresses and actors in a state of creation. A faithful document that will speak to us forever about the immense talent that we must protect and promote.”

He also added that “Jochy Campusano inherited the style and elegance to make it possible for thousands of talents to place their trust when standing in front of his camera, managing to enjoy being photographed and capture what only artists have and what we see in each of the images that are shown today. expose”.

Jochy Campusano He has a degree in advertising, graduated from Unapec. His beginnings in the world of art and entertainment took place as a producer of casting for film and television, later becoming an outstanding professional make-up artist.

His career began as a production assistant on “Sábado Chiquito de Corporán”. A few years later he became a game show producer, then started the agency for casting Volumen, later specialized in makeup, and from 2011 to today he works as a photographer specializing in weddings and portraits.
