Do you know how to read the labels on the packages?

Before buying a packaged product, it is advisable to read the label, but do you know how to read it? For example: if it says ‘chocolate flavored’, it implies that it tastes like chocolate, but it doesn’t have chocolate in it. The flavor is given by other ingredients, ‘cheating’ the palate. Read the label to see if it says chocolate or not among the ingredients.

Ingredient ratio

According to the regulations, on a food label the ingredients are listed ‘in descending order of initial weight’ when manufacturing the product. Does a jam say strawberries first then sugar? Excellent! There are more strawberries. Does it say sugar? So… there is more sugar!

Take advantage of book sales!

Since novels are expensive, I take advantage when the Cuesta Bookstore puts books on sale. In the one that now has RD$ 275.00 for certain books (in the capital and Santiago, and in the Nacional and Jumbo Supermarkets), I discovered an excellent legal thriller in the supermarket: The Fifth Witness, by Michael Connally. Today I will go to the bookstore itself to see if I can find something else.
