Elon Musk claims that artificial intelligence could achieve world peace by disarming humanity

The explosion of the artificial intelligence (AI) has taken the world by storm. Its growth at unsuspected levels has created fascination and concern about its risks. For Elon Muskthis technology could be used to control systems and weapons globally in pursuit of world peace.

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla He argues that AI could take control of all computer systems and weapons on Earth, a fact that would prevent humans from engaging in war.

“One way to achieve world peace is to take all weapons away from humans so they can no longer use them,” he said. Musk during an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

“I don’t think AI is trying to destroy all of humanity.but it could put us under tight control,” he added.

He was also concerned about the ability of these emerging technologies to influence people through social networks.

“The pen is mightier than the sword, so one of the first places we need to be careful about AI being used is on social media to manipulate public opinion,” he said.

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)

Musk also dared to sign that in the next ten years we could also see the development of the artificial general intelligence (AGI)a technology that could learn and perform any intellectual task at the level of a human being.

“We could be on the event horizon of the black hole that is social superintelligence,” he warned, referring to AGI.

Musk hasn’t been the only one who has come forward to weigh in on the potential dangers of AI. In 2015, Stephen Hawking, the renowned physicist, claimed that this intelligence could “signify the end of the human race.”

Similarly, in 2017, Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, said that it is “potentially more dangerous than nuclear weapons.”
