Elon Musk is trolled: announces that Twitter accepts 2-hour videos, and user posts “Shrek”

After becoming the owner of Twitter, after paying 44,000 million dollars, Elon Musk promised that several new features would come to the famous blue bird platform. One of these new features, which he was just trolled for, will allow users to post videos that are up to two hours long, as long as they are no larger than 8 GB in size.

It all started on May 18, 2023, when the tycoon of South African origin used his official account to make his announcement. “Twitter Blue Verified subscribers can now upload 2 hour (8GB) videos,” Elon Musk wrote. His message did not take long to go viral, reaching more than 333,000 “likes”, 37,600 retweets and hundreds of comments.

Although most of the comments belonged to people who congratulated the Tesla founder for this new feature, there were others who joked about the various uses that many will give it, including uploading movies. Something that ended up being fulfilled, since in record time a user published the film “Shrek” without imagining that its publication would become a trend.

The account that uploaded the movie (Why is it a trend?) revealed that he took advantage of Elon Musk’s announcement to share the first “Shrek” tape, as it commemorated its 22nd anniversary. So far, the clip has not been removed from the platform and has already been seen by more than 15, 8 million people, who consider it one of the best animated films in history.

How to upload videos of up to 2 hours on Twitter?

It is worth noting that only Twitter Blue users have access to this function. If you are not subscribed to this paid version, you will not be able to share such long or very heavy clips. To register, you only have to pay S/30 per month either S/ 319 per year (11% savings). You will also have access to other premium features such as editing tweets.
