To close the month of May in encounters, we took a tour of the most relevant social activities of the week. We visited the illuminated Eugenio María de Hostos park, celebrated the birthday of King Carlos III and celebrated the new accreditation of Chef Alberto Martín.

2. Sinfonía Foundation will bring the Carnegie Hall Youth Orchestra for the first time (NY02)
The Sinfonía Foundation celebrates an important milestone this 2023. The renowned youth orchestra of Carnegie Hall, NY02, arrives in the Dominican Republic thanks to the entity with three master concerts in Santo Domingo, Santiago and Juan Dolio.
Eighty young instrumentalists between the ages of 14 and 18, promises of classical music, will visit Dominican soil and share a performance with their Dominican peers.
3. Celebrate the Birthday of King Carlos III
King Carlos III is celebrating his birthday! On this occasion to celebrate his life, which also represents the national day of the United Kingdom, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, HE Mockbul Ali OBE and his wife, Sajeda Qureshi, organized a reception at the Museum of Modern Art in the Plaza of the Culture of Santo Domingo.

4. Certify Gaspar Restaurant with the Restaurants from Spain seal
Under the premise that Spanish cuisine is considered a central axis in the promotion of Spain as a brand, ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones has launched the Restaurants From Spain quality seal as a hallmark for establishments outside of Spain.
This certification endorses the quality of authentic Spanish cuisine with a unique and differentiated image. This week the first restaurant with this distinction in the Dominican Republic was recognized, “El Restaurante Gaspar, which is part of Club Hemingway and is directed by chef Don Alberto Martín.
5. Arcadio Díaz store opens at AILA
Dufry Dominican Republic inaugurated a new Arcadio Diaz fashion store in the south terminal of Las Americas International Airport. During the opening ceremony, they presented the firm’s new collection, Renacer, in which vibrant colors and patterns predominate, with the chacabana as the protagonist.
