Fresialinda, Rosita de Espinar and other artists support protesters from the south: “We are not indifferent”

Lima is experiencing a quite convulsed situation, since for several weeks it had been announced that this Thursday, January 19, thousands of protesters would arrive in the capital of Peru from the southern regions to demand the resignation of Dina Boluarte and the closure of Congress. For this reason, various figures from the national show business have spoken out about it, as was the case of Mariella Zanetti, Melissa Paredes or Rebeca Escribns, who asked that the marches be peaceful in order to avoid more deaths.

Now, a group of folk artists, led by Fresialinda and Rosita de Espinar issued a statement through social networks in which they indicated that they not only support these massive protests, but that they will also bring food to the thousands of Peruvians who are already in the capital to protest.

The pronouncement was clear and specified that the figures of the vernacular world will receive the protesters in the best way. Likewise, in the writing, the artists asked their followers to follow in their footsteps and attend to the needs of citizens from the regions.

“We are not indifferent to our brothers in the south. Today, starting at 3:00 pm, we will bring water and food to the Andean communities that have arrived in Lima. If you want to join this fraternal and humanitarian support, contact us or write to 987 773 236. When we go to the south, they receive us with affection and admiration, today that they are in Lima we receive them with affection and understanding”, the document specified.

The driver asked both parties, the government and the protesters, to keep the situation peaceful during the demonstrations, in order to prevent further loss of life from occurring in the coming hours.

“I really pray, I ask God, life and work to be able to bring them a little joy, but also to ask, please, that this calm down, to reach good agreements, above all, in peace. We come from a pandemic, this blessed war that locked us up, isolated us from the world, so what we have to say to each other is by communicating, speaking, ”he specified.
