Germany bans sale of OPPO and OnePlus phones after Nokia lawsuit

OPPO and OnePlus Chinese smartphone manufacturers, with a large presence in the European mobile market, are experiencing a serious problem in Germany. Both companies cannot sell their mobiles in that country due to a lawsuit filed by nokia for patent infringement.

As reported by the specialized portal 9to5Google, you can no longer buy a new phone on the German versions of the OPPO and OnePlus websites. This measure does not affect the brand’s mobile phones that have already been purchased in that country and that will continue to function normally.

nokia has argued for years that OPPO Y one plus they allegedly use proprietary 5G technology in their smartphones. Since the companies did not pay for these patents, nokia has tried to show in court that sales should be banned until this problem is fixed.

Likewise, a German court has now sided with Nokia. This means that OPPO and OnePlus will have to pay nokia for the use of its patents to be able to legally sell phones in Germany.

However, the situation could worsen for mobile manufacturers, like Germany, other countries could also support Nokia and ban the sale of the phones of the brands in question.
