Indómita presents its second season inspired by the works of Quisqueya Henríquez


The Indómita organization presented its second season with exclusive collections created by local designers and inspired by the works of the artist Quisqueya Henríquez.

Indómita is a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance, support and promote art and dominican fashion. On this occasion, it brought together several collections made by Ana + Maria, Isla & White, Idioma Studio, JC Lagares, Dwarmis Concepción, Azzurrata and Porcelana Simó.

The creations of these seven artists aim to display art and creativity, supported by the inspiration of the artistic pieces of Quisqueya Henríquez, an artist known for her works that contain collage, digital printing, video, installation and sound. .

In addition, Henriquez’s work raises questions about the languages ​​of art, popular culture and art history, with a subtle and witty look from the Caribbean region to global contexts. His work can be found in important public and private collections such as the Museo del Barrio in New York; Bronx Museum, NY; Perez Art Museum in Miami; Cintas Foundation in New York; Rhode Island School of Design; and the Blanton Museum in Austin, Texas, among others. The September 2007 issue of ART News named Henríquez one of the 25 Art World Pioneers.

Indómita has a shop-gallery, created from the vision of its founder and passionate about fashion, Karina Cortorreal, to provide an exhibition space for Dominican designers and artists to produce their collections, raise their brands and enhance the development of their careers.

The profits are destined in their entirety to create a fund to support local talent and other initiatives aligned with its strategic mission, convinced that local design has the potential to generate value.

Within the Indómita exhibition spaces, design pieces from the exclusive limited collections of the gallery and selected works of art by the plastic artist Quisqueya Henríquez are for sale. In addition, the organization has a virtual exhibition and sales platform where customers can also explore the collections.

All pieces from the second season will be available on view at the gallery’s premises beginning Tuesday, January 18. The gallery is located in the Design District in Piantini, Agustín Lara Street No. 13, and opens its doors from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
