Jair Bolsonaro is discharged after 2 days hospitalized for intestinal obstruction

The president of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro announced this Wednesday that he was discharged after spending two days admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo for an intestinal obstruction, a problem that he has suffered since the 2018 attack.

“High now. Thank you all”, The far-right president pointed out in a message published on his social networks that he accompanied with a photograph in which he appears in bed surrounded by the team of doctors who have accompanied his case.

Bolsonaro was urgently hospitalized last Monday after complaining of abdominal problems while enjoying a few days of vacation in the southern state of Santa Catarina.

He was then transferred by plane to the Vila Nova Star Hospital, a reputed private clinic in the capital of São Paulo, where he has remained hospitalized and is still awaiting his departure.

The 66-year-old Brazilian head of state has overcome abdominal obstruction with conservative treatment, without the need to undergo surgery, which was ruled out by doctors on the eve.

Bolsonaro suffered the same problem in July 2021, when he was also admitted to the same hospital for a few days for another intestinal obstruction, which was also cured with conventional treatment, without the need for surgery.

The retired Army captain, as well as his political allies, has stressed on both occasions that his health problems are consequences of the stabbing he was given in an act of the 2018 electoral campaign, the year in which he was elected president.

That attack led to four abdominal surgeries since then.

This last stay in the hospital occurred at a time when he was receiving a lot of criticism from the opposition and the local media for not going to the areas affected by the serious floods that occurred in the northeast of the country and continuing with your vacation.
