José del Monte, Master of the Chapel of the Choir of the Primate Cathedral of America, died.
“With great regret I report the death of our dear friend, supervisor and counselor, Professor José E. Del Monte Peguero, former director of Public Relations and Diffusion of the Reserve Bank, and teacher of the Chapel of the Choir of the Catedral Primada de América” , expressed Roberto Berroa.
The professor’s remains will be exhibited this afternoon at the Blandino funeral home on Abraham Lincoln Avenue starting at 3:00 pm and on Thursday there will be a present body mass on Thursday at 10:00 in the morning.
Del Monte created the choirs of the Dominican Navy, the National Army, the National Police, and the Dominican Air Force. Likewise, he established the choir of the Naco Club, the Arroyo Hondo Club, and the Naco Club’s cultural department, among other achievements.
He was general director of Fine Arts and undersecretary of Education. José Del Monte directed the missing El Dorado awards. And for 16 years he was director of the National Choir.
