La Bachata” by Manuel Turizo takes the stage at a Coldplay concert in Colombia

Colombian Manuel Turizo made history alongside the iconic British rock band Coldplay in Bogotá, Colombia, where Turizo was the surprise guest of the evening and had the opportunity to sing his international hit “La Bachata” at the show.

Around 55,000 fans attended the show which was part of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour”. Together they made history, for his part the Colombian was able to make himself felt in his native country and Coldplay performed his first bachata, representing the union within two musical styles.

Turizo’s “La Bachata” has been a worldwide success dominating the Billboard charts and all the major playlists in the world in the last few months, becoming a great success of the new generation in Latin music.

“It was an honor for me to play with Coldplay on their last night in Bogotá, Colombia, as part of their world tour,” shared Turizo. “I can’t believe Coldplay performed ‘La Bachata’ with me. I never would have thought this would happen and I feel like I’m still in a daze knowing that Coldplay made history with me for our fans. Never stop dreaming.”

Colombian fans in the audience were surprised to see the band play the bachata genre, but overall proud to see one of their new generation artists play and influence such a performance. Turizo received thunderous applause from approximately 55,000 fans.

On Friday night, Coldplay also surprised fans at their first sold-out show in Bogotá, playing their own version of JBalvin and Bad Bunny’s global hit ‘La Canción’. The legendary group showed how Latin music has influenced them and how the urban genre has become popular around the world.

Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour” kicked off in March 2022 and ran for two nights in Bogotá, Colombia. The world tour has also featured artists other than Turizo such as Camila Cabello, HER, Mariah the Scientist, Bea Miller and many more young artists who are emerging on the music scene.

At 22 years old, Turizo continues to demonstrate with actions that his music has no limits or language barriers and that his sound does not belong to a single musical genre.
