This week the duels of the round of 32 of the King’s Cup 2021-2022. After very even and exciting matches, the 16 teams that will fight to win the title of this traditional tournament are already known.
Atlético Baleares of the third division of Spain is the great surprise of the contest. The Mallorcan team arrived at this stage after eliminating Getafe and Celta de Vigo from Renato Tapia.
The other squads that struck at this stage were Girona and Sporting de Gijón. Both second division clubs beat Osasuna and Villarreal respectively.
The remaining 13 teams that advanced to the round of 16 belong to LaLiga Santander, among which stands out the FC Barcelona Real Madrid Seville, Atlético de Madrid and Valencia.
The Catalans suffered more than necessary to beat Linares. Those led by Xavi Hernández won 2-1 with a great performance from Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé.
For their part, the galacticos had no problems and defeated Alcoyano 3-1 with goals from Éder Militao, Marco Asensio and Isco.
The draw for the pairings for the next round will take place this Friday, January 7, in the city of Madrid. These keys will be played on January 15, 16 and 19.
