Pink sky in Australia! An eerie pink glow lights up the Australian sky

Residents of the city of Mildura, in Australia, were surprised last Tuesday, July 19, by a gloomy sky, which, during the night, could be seen with a pink glow. The images quickly became viral on social networks, since the pink glow is observed in the sky that was captured by residents and tourists of the Australian city.

Local authorities estimated that the mysterious luminosity in the sky was observed by more than 30,000 people who live in the town located in the northwest of the state of Victoria, in Australia. The same authorities have managed to solve the enigma behind the curious event that lit up the night sky of the city, which left local residents stunned.

The phenomenon aroused many assumptions, some people claimed that the color was the product of a solar flare, while others believed it was caused by a forest fire. Some even stated that it was a “space-time portal”.

According to the Australian network ABC, the particular light was the product of a visual effect generated by the lamps of a local farm that grows medical cannabis.

Peter Crock, CEO of the Cann Group, the company responsible for causing the particular phenomenon, explained that the lights observed at night came from the lamps his farm uses to grow the plant.

“Cannabis grows under long periods of daylight. Its flowering requires 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness, which normally goes from 7 in the morning to 7 in the evening,” he said. “Because of a new zone going live in a day or two, we left the lights on,” he added.

“Normally the blinds automatically close at sunset, but last night we had the lights on and the blinds hadn’t closed yet, so there was a period where it created a glare,” Crock said.
