Shock in Qatar 2022: an Iranian who celebrated the elimination of his country against the US is murdered

An Iranian was shot dead by security forces after celebrating the elimination of his country before USA at the soccer World Cup, according to human rights groups.

Iran was removed by USA at the tournament in Qatar on Tuesday night, prompting mixed reactions from supporters and critics of the Iranian regime.

mehran samak 27, was shot dead after honking his car horn in Bandar Anzali, a city on the Caspian Sea coast, northwest of Tehran, according to the cited media.

Samak “He was deliberately targeted and was shot in the head by security forces (…) after the national team’s defeat against the United States,” said Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR).

The Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) based in New York, reported that security forces had killed him for celebrating defeat and posted a video of his funeral in Tehran on Wednesday in which people could be heard chanting “Death to the dictator!”

Iran it is the scene of protests sparked by the death, on September 16, of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian Kurdish woman arrested three days earlier by police for violating the country’s dress code that requires the wearing of the headscarf in public.
