He National Ballet Festival will be presented during the 50th anniversary of the Eduardo Brito National Theater with the companies Ballet Concierto Dominicano that will exhibit its show “Gala Premiere” on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6, at 8:30 p.m.
Meanwhile he Dominican National Ballet will present “Estaciones” on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13, at 8:30 p.m., sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Fundación Amigos del National theater and the General Directorate of Fine Arts.
The Minister of Culture, Milagros Germán, led the act.
During a span of five decades, the National theaterone of the most dynamic cultural spaces in Santo Domingo, has recovered, shared and developed artistic and cultural sensitivity in Dominican society through stable, diverse and quality programming.
“The programming of National theater has always sought to present new productions and artistic premieres that exhibit the creations of relevant local, national and international artists, at the same time, which has been a benchmark in the emergence of emerging talents in multiple artistic disciplines”, said Carlos Veitia, director general of National theater in a meeting with the press.
The program is made to show the creations of both companies, the interventions and choreographies of outstanding artists, the technical deployment of the dancers and, especially, the evolution, dynamism and avant-garde of a variety of different styles and themes.
“Gala Premiere” of the Ballet Concierto Dominicano, directed by Sarah Esteva and Lisbell Piedra, assistant director, has choreographies by renowned artists from the dance: Carlos Veitia (“Anima Mobile”), Pablo Pérez (“Por una rosa”) and Ramón Oller (“Amanecer”), a renowned choreographer in Europe.
In addition, as special guests, the principal dancers of the Miami City Ballet, Rainer Krenstetter and Tricia Albertson, will participate, a company that has established its own artistic identity, standing out in ballet worldwide.
On his side, he Dominican National Balletfrom the General Directorate of Fine Arts, with his piece “Estaciones”, directed by Stephanie Bauger, broadens the expressive and technical horizon of his dancers and repertoire, together with the renowned choreographers, Marianela Boán and Annabelle López Ochoa.
