This was the career of Erick Elera in the Yaipén Brothers unlike that of Joel in Al fondo hay sitio

They ‘choked’ it! Although Joel left everything in his presentation to be part of the ‘group 6‘, the musicians rejected him for giving the position to Jimmy.

The son of ‘Charito’ had planned to be a star in Peruvian music and that was what would happen if he joined the cumbia group. However, his dreams came crashing down when he discovered that they weren’t looking for him and weren’t even interested in his talent.

Its beginnings in the Yaipén Brothers

It was in 2008 when Erick Elera was introduced as the new member of ‘The Yaipen Brothers‘. At that time, the singer was a support member of the orchestra and the same thing happened with Christian Domínguez.

Despite the success he achieved with the cumbia orchestra, Elera withdrew to be part of the musical duo “The ones in the neighborhood” alongside Domínguez in the Latina series of the same name.

Erick returned to the Yaipén Brothers

It took six years for, in 2014, the actor return to the chiclayana orchestra although it was specified that it was only for a limited time.

In this sense, Elera clarified that he was not replacing Domínguez, who had a couple of problems with the directors of the group.

“I am not his replacement, let it be clear that I arrived when he was still in the group. It was not the idea at first. They [Christian y Ángelo Fukuy] they left and, against all odds, which says that the Yaipén are doing badly, we have a lot of work and people continue to respond very well”, he stressed.

Around those times, Christian was about to start recording “My love, the wachiman 2”. In addition, after his departure from the musical group, he founded ‘Gran Orquesta Internacional’, the direct competition of ‘Los Hermanos Yaipén’. They even played the songs of the Monsefuana group.

While all these legal disputes between the orchestras were taking place, Elera continued recording “Al fondo hay sitio” and singing for the Yaipén.

But how did Erick Elera start in music?

The artist began his career at the young age of 17 as a member of the Peruvian boyband Joven Sensación.

In 2011, he released his solo album ‘Lola’ which was dedicated to his late mother and “Love“, Joel’s theme in “Al fondo hay sitio”. As if that were not enough, he also released a Japanese version of this theme.

This was interviewed by the TV Tokyo program “Why did you come to Japan?” (“You wa nanishini nippon he”) after his arrival in the country of the rising sun.

And he decided to surprise the Japanese journalists with a version in their language of the popular theme song from the america television.

It was not until 2018, that he launched his own musical group “Erick Elera and his orchestra“. Today, he is a successful artist and businessman.
