The Elias Aguirre Stadium in Chiclayo will reopen its doors next year on the occasion of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023 and in the remodeling project not only is the infrastructure of the main field and grandstands, but also the adjoining land, known as adjoining courts.
In this space, a mantle of natural grass will be planted so that the teams that are part of the Chiclayo headquarters can carry out their training sessions in the same sports complex.
This is stated in the opinion of the Budget Commission of the Congress of the republic which approved an initial investment item of S/ 64,813,467 for the beginning of the works in the stadiums hosting the U-17 World Cup. It should be noted that these will be executed in the remainder of 2022. In 2023, a budget of S/ 234,016,585 is planned.
In this way, it is not only projected to have venues duly conditioned for the international contest, but also training camps with the standards that a competition demands. FIFA.
Throughout Peru, 14 training fields will be set up, which will be used by the teams that arrive in the country for this tournament.
The U-17 World Cup will take place in Peru in November 2023 and the venues are Chiclayo, Piura, Lime Callao and Tacna.
