United States: Mayo Clinic dismisses 700 workers for not being vaccinated

A well-known American clinic has made headlines after laying off around 700 workers who did not have the COVID-19 vaccine. According NBC News The so-called Mayo Clinic, located in Minnesota, gave its workers an ultimatum until Monday, January 3 to be able to present their vaccination card with at least one dose, or else they had to present a medical or even religious justification for not inoculation.

Despite the warnings, many workers did not comply with what was proposed by the clinic, so the medical center proceeded with the massive dismissal.

“We need to take all the necessary steps to keep our patients, workforce, visitors and communities safe,” reads the statement from the Mayo Clinic.

On the other hand, the medical center detailed that almost 99% of a total of 73,000 Employees from different areas did comply with what was requested within the deadline.
