Why did Walter and Javier Yaipén leave Group 5?

Grupo 5, the successful Peruvian cumbia orchestra, was founded in 1974 by the brothers Elmer, Victor, Walter and Javier Yaipén, who started this dream with the aim of making it a great family business. But everything changed with the death of Elmer in 1999, because his son Elmer Junior Yaipén, known as ‘Chico’, was left in charge of the orchestra and after being badly advised he decided to divide the group and that each of his uncles form their own groups.

“Víctor opens with another group with the support of my brother Elmer and me. When my brother dies, we think about recording songs, preparing Elmer and adapting it. However, they were not properly advised by telling them that they could do it on their own. We found out because the communication was cut off. Faced with this situation, I presented the project to my brother”, Walter Yaipén mentioned in an interview with Carlos Orozco through YouTube.
