The developers of WhatsApp, the most used instant messaging application in the world, are working on a future update that will include a feature that will be very useful for people who manage groups on this platform. What does it consist of? Here we will give you the details.
As detailed by WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp function (which is not yet available in Android or ios) will give more power to administrators, who will not only be able to remove bad members, but will also be able to permanently delete their messages.
According to the publication, this new feature is still being tested in the beta of the instant messaging application; however, you already have the first filtered image. With this addition, administrators will be able to prevent content that goes against group policies.
As you can see in the screenshot, when an administrator deletes a user’s comment, WhatsApp will show the following phrase “This was removed by an admin”, So the rest of the people who make up the group will have knowledge of the decision.
Delete messages in groups?
Currently, WhatsApp users who send a message to a group will be able to delete it, as long as they do so within 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds. After that period of time, the text, photo or video will remain in the chat of all participants.
With the new update, group chat administrators will have that power to censor content. Although it is unknown if they will have that time limitation or it will be possible to delete comments that were sent several days ago.
