Will Taylor Swift sing at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show?

Taylor Swift could sing at the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time in 2023, according to a new report from Variety. He points out that one of the reasons this long-awaited performance is finally happening is that Apple will assume sponsorship of the show.

This would be the first Super Bowl halftime performance for the multiple Grammy Award-winning artist. Her 10th studio album, “Midnights,” is due out on October 21, so several of her singles from the project should still be atop the Billboard charts when the game kicks off in February.

The NFL announced Friday at midnight that it had signed a multiyear deal to partner with Apple Music for the halftime show. The league had terminated a deal with Pepsi in May. The timing of the announcement made fans of Taylor Swift speculated that she would headline the 2023 Super Bowl.

With Pepsi out of the picture, a performance by Taylor Swift, who has a partnership with Coca-Cola, would certainly be the most likely. For her part, Apple Music was previously the exclusive home of the artist’s entire music catalog.

Despite speculation, neither Apple Music nor the NFL have confirmed the involvement of Taylor Swift at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. Meanwhile, Variety is already reporting that “it’s happening,” citing three “sources close to the situation.”

The situation seems to be very much up in the air. If Swift does headline the show, she will be one of the biggest female stars to do so, joining Diana Ross, Shania Twain, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez and more.
