Xiaomi presents a modular robot for children that you can assemble as if it were a LEGO

Xiaomi is not only dedicated to the development of smartphones, but is also focused on other areas of technology. A few months ago, for example, the Chinese brand presented its first cyberdog in Peru, and today it has just announced a modular robot for children. What does it consist of?

As detailed by Computer Hoy, a portal specialized in technology, the new Xiaomi Mijia Modular Robot is made up of several pieces (modules) that can be assembled one on top of the other, as if they were LEGO brand pieces. In this way, the children will be able to give this artifact the shape they want.

According to the publication, there are various types of modules: spherical, flat, long for the extremities, but the most important is the head, which has an ARM processor and sensors that allow the identification of people, as well as knowing if they they are playing.

The modules are easy to connect for children, who can create various combinations, from an android with two legs, a dog, an arm, among other objects that they wish. Thanks to the fact that it has artificial intelligence (AI), the robot will be able to move in a coordinated manner.

This project developed by Xiaomi will come with an application that you must install on your smartphone or tablet, which allows children to program various actions, such as making them walk, start dancing, greet family members differently, etc.

If the Xiaomi Mijia Modular Robot has caught your attention, you should know that, at the moment, it is only available in China, at a price of 3,599 yuan, that is, about 500 US dollars.
